Kennesaw State University is underway in their search for a new head men’s basketball coach. A search committee, headed by Interim Director of Athletics Scott Whitlock, has been organized by Kennesaw State University President Dr. Dan Papp.
The official posting for the position was placed on both the NCAA and Kennesaw State University Human Resources websites on Monday, Mar. 14. Under Georgia State law, the posting must be open for a minimum of 10 business days.
Kennesaw State’s search for a new head men’s basketball coach is being conducted at the same time as the search for a new athletic director.
“Ideally, we’d like to have a new athletic director in place before we name a new men’s basketball coach,” Whitlock said on the search for both open positions. “As far as what kind of candidate for men’s basketball coach we ultimately choose, we’re not taking anything off of the table at this time. We’re going to find the person who is the best match for Kennesaw State men’s basketball and Kennesaw State University.”
The search committee will begin to vet candidates on Monday, Mar. 28, and will interview four to eight applicants before paring down the applicant pool to three finalists. It will be at that time that the finalists will meet with Kennesaw State officials for more in-depth interviews, with a final decision on a coach planning to be made at the beginning of April.
