The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces the death of Mr. Willis Monroe Sharp, age 90 of Blue Ridge, GA , who passed away on Monday, March 7, 2011 at his home.Mr. Sharp was born on June 24, 1920 in Fannin County to the late John and Minnie Smith Sharp. He was an assembly worker with a furniture manufacturing company. Mr. Sharp was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church. He served his country in the Army during World War II. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Becky Callihan Sharp and second wife, Ruby Lee Porter Sharp.
Survivors include a brother, Clifford Sharp of Cleveland, OH; sister, Reathel Martin of Ellijay, GA also survive.
Graveside services will be conducted on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. from Mount Morah Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Delmer Davenport officiating. Military honors will be provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Donnie Callihan, Randy Sharp, Jeff Ledford, Terry Winkler, Perry Ledford and Eddie Gilmore.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com. Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge is in charge of the arrangements.
