The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces the death of Steve Stanley, age 47, of Blue Ridge, GA who passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at his home.Mr. Stanley was born September 7, 1963 in Tate, GA to the late Jacob Stanley and Bertie Hughes Stanley. He worked as a saw miller for Cruse Lumber and was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church. He loved hunting, fishing, and woodworking.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jason Matthew Stanley. He is survived by his wife, Louise Stanley of Jasper, GA; daughters, Leona Nichole Stanley Welch of Chatsworth, GA and Emily Michelle Stanley of Jasper, GA; brothers, Mitchell Stanley of Talking Rock, GA and James Stanley of Blue Ridge; sisters, Anna Hunnicut of Blue Ridge and Gina Jumper of Talking Rock.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, March 3, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from Big Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Wehunt and Rev. Tim Garrett officiating. Music will be by Kirk Barker and Friends. Pallbearers will be Seth Stanley, Nathan Hunnicut, Daniel Hunnicut, Jacob Ray, David Hunnicut, and Ricky Bradburn. Interment will follow in Big Creek Church Cemetery.
