Appalachian Trail Celebration & Backpacking Clinic

On March 5 and 6, novices through experienced hikers can enjoy a weekend at Amicalola State Park learning the ins and outs of hiking and enjoying the Applachian Trail.

Two full days of events begin at 9:00 a.m. each day. Saturday’s speakers capture the essence of the Appalachian Trail, as hikers share their dreams, challenges and adventures. Training sessions throughout the day and at 7:00 p.m. Sunday local outfitters will give helpful tips and demonstrations on proper gear and preparation.All programs are located in the Lodge and are free of charge. There is a $5.00 charge per vehicle unless you have a State Park Pass.
