Thomas Henry “Tommy” Deal, Sr.: Obituary

The Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill announces the death of Thomas Henry “Tommy” Deal, Sr., age 65, of Copperhill, TN who passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2011.Mr. Deal was a native of the Copper Basin area and was a son of the late John Martin and Hattie Marie Walden Deal. He was retired from the Tennessee Chemical Company where he worked as a repairman. He was an avid Tennessee Volunteer Football Fan and a supporter of the Copper Basin Football. He was a member of the Bethel Church.

He is survived by sons, Marty (Rhonda) Deal of Copperhill, TN, Junior Deal of Woodstock, GA, Johnny Wayne Deal of Copperhill, TN; brothers, Edward Deal and Ronald Deal, both of Cleveland, TN, Vance Deal of Copperhill, TN; sisters, Betty Cox, Beatrice Martin and Cathy Cheatham, all of Cleveland, TN; four grandchildren, Jacob, Isaac, Michael and Taylor Marie Deal.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, February 18th at 2:00 p.m. from the Mt. Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Lloyd Deal and Rev. Clifton Patterson. Music will be by the O’Neal family and Craig O’Neal. Pallbearers include Carly Tankersley, Danny O’Neal, John Henry Waters and Max Pittman, Jr. Grandsons serving as honorary pallbearers include Jacob Deal, Michael Deal, Isaac Deal and Taylor Marie Deal. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Condolences to the family may be sent to www.akinsfuneralhome.com. Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill in charge of the arrangements.
