The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces the death of Mrs. Ruby Queen Dyer age 76, of Epworth, GA who passed away on Saturday, February 05, 2011 at Fannin Regional Hospital. Born in Fannin County, GA she was the daughter of the late Harry and Effie Dilbeck Queen. She was a loving mother and grandmother and a long time member of the Hipps Chapel Church.
Survivors include her children, Judy (Authur) Hicks of Epworth, Larry Dyer of Blue Ridge, Jeff Dyer, Nancy (Chuck) Patterson, Ted (Brenda) Dyer and Matt Dyer all of Epworth, GA; brother, Bill Queen of Macon, GA; seventeen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Delmar Davenport officiating. Music will be provided by Sue Phillips, Debbie Patterson and the Hipps Chapel Church Choir. Interment will follow in Colwell Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to help defray final expenses.
