Georgia Tech’s Anthony Allen Will Play in Senior Bowl

First team All Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) running back, Anthony Allen, who rushed for 1,316 yards in 2010, will play in the Under Armour Senior Bowl on January 29, 2011 in Mobile, Alabama.Allen, a Tampa, Florida native, transferred to Georgia Tech after rushing for 1,102 during a two-year stint at the University of Louisville. He ranked second in the ACC and 18th nationally with 101.2 yards per game on the ground. He finished the 2010 season with five 100-yard rushing games. He had 160 plus yards in his final two regular season games, 165 against Duke and 166 against Georgia. Allen finished his collegiate career with 3,036 rushing yards.

The ACC will have the second most players represented in the Senior Bowl (18), second to the SEC (22). The Senior Bowl is considered by many scouts to have the highest level of All-Star game talent. The game (4 p.m. ET), as well as all practices, will be shown on the NFL Network.

Senior Bowl President and CEO, Steve Hale, had high praises for the ACC.

“We’ve always had great success with ACC players with guys like Philip Rivers (N.C. State) and D’Brickashaw Ferguson (Virginia) performing extremely well during Senior Bowl week and fully expect this year to produce more future NFL stars from the conference.”
