Owls Fly South

After losing a school record 10 games in a row the Kennesaw State Fighting Owls have won three of five, including the latest two game win streak. The Owls posted consecutive Atlantic Sun Conference wins, and their first road wins of the season over the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles (81-70) and the Stetson Hatters (63-62). The Black and Gold’s Kelvin McConnell set a career high with six three-point baskets made against the Eagles. He finished with a game high 22 points. McConnell is now second place all time on the school’s three point list, moving ahead of Golden Ingle, son of Owls coach Tony Ingle. Markeith Cummings finished with 21 points and LaDaris Green posted a double double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

The one point win over Stetson came on a coast-to-coast lay up in traffic made by Spencer Dixon. It was the first buzzer beater win by the Owls since a win over USC Upstate on December 1, 2008. The win also featured the third double double of the season by Aaron Anderson, who finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
