Hazel Lance White, age 88, of Blairsville, GA, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2010 at Union County Nursing Home.Hazel was born in Union County, GA to the late Bob and Bessie (Mauney) Lance. She was a member of Ivy Log Baptist Church, the Retired teachers Association and had taught school for 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband John White in 1966, and her sister Ruth Chapman in 2009.
Hazel is survived by a daughter, Jo Ann Cornwell of Blairsville, GA, step-daughter, Ellen White of Buford, GA and step-son, Telford and Wilma White of Buford, GA, two grandchildren, Richard and Karen Cornwell and Kristi Cornwell, two step-grandchildren, Joy Davies and Jill Colsson, four great grandchildren, Brody Brackett, Amelia Cornwell, Isabella Griffis and Conner Griffis, several nephew and step-great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Hazel will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Black and Rev. Jerry Karnes officiating. Music will be provided by Peggy Chambers and Lita Gowder. Pallbearers will be Lewis Chapman, Allen Chapman, Junior Puett, Bruce Gray, Don Rogers, Jack Lance, Jr. Interment will follow in Ivy Log Baptist Church Cemetery.

The Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 11:00 until 1:00.
