5th Annual Fire & Ice Chili Cook-Off, Merciers Orchards Takes Crown

BLUE RIDGE, GA — Blue Ridge kept Valentines Day seasoned with a variety of chili and a dash of ice sculptures at the 5th annual Fire & Ice Chili Cook-Off held in Downtown Blue Ridge on February 14th, 2015.13 businesses from around the Blue Ridge area gathered downtown for the 5th year in a row for a friendly competition to see who could produce the best tasting chili.

Upon arrival at to the Fire & Ice festival, guest could purchase a chili tasting card for $10. With the cards guest could walk around and sample each contestants chili. After tasting all of the different samples guest would then write down their favorite contestants number on the back of there taste cards to cast their votes.

Along with tasting numerous delicious chili recipes, guest could roam around not only view to multiple intricate ice sculptures, but to actually watch the artist at work creating the sculptures.

Towards the end of the festival the judges gathered the ballots for the chili cook-off and counted up the results to find that Mercier Orchards deli had won the people’s choice award.
