Does Ralston Have a Real Challenge?

Featured Stories, Politics

In January Martha Zoller, Editor in Chief for zpolitics and the co-host of Georgia’s Morning News with Zoller and Bryant, wrote an article calling the 7th District State House race a big flop.

“But with campaign disclosure numbers now available for review, reality is setting in that the big fight between Speaker Ralston and newcomer Sam Snider is really a big flop.”

According to campaign financial disclosure reports Zoller is correct . Speaker Ralston has close to $750,000 to Snider’s $4,000. It takes money to run for office and if Snider wants to be considered a serious candidate he will have to start raising money. Snider told FYN that campaign contributions are on the rise.

Snider did not get the message his campaign is a flop. He can be seen with family and friends putting up signs “Coach” Sam Snider for State House. Snider has started his grassroots campaign by attending Tea Party and Republican Party meetings in Gilmer, Fannin, and Dawson counties. Speaker Ralston’s campaign has been hard at work putting up signs. Everywhere you look you see “Ralston.” Snider is lagging far behind on signs but has put up enough signs to get people talking. Snider told his friends on facebook that he has another 500 signs on the way.

Snider has issued a challenge to Speaker Ralston to a debate. FetchYourNews.com has offered to host the debate. We await the answer from the Ralston campaign to the challenge.

Will this race turn out to be the flop predicted? Will Speaker Ralston accept Snider’s challenge to a debate?
