Mr. Jerry Duke Poore, age 80 of Blue Ridge, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at his home. Mr. Poore was born August 19, 1937 in Cherokee County, GA to the late Fred Poore and the late Mildred Duke Poore. A member of the Epworth First Baptist Church, he was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Nancy Berry Poore. Jerry was retired from General Motors and in his spare time he enjoyed woodworking, fishing, cars and working outside in his yard.

Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Debra Poore, daughter, Karen Poore, grandson and his spouse, Andrew and Katie Mae Poore and step brother, Sidney Kemp.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 2, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Epworth First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. He will lie-in-state at the church before the service from 10-11 am. Music provided by Doug Simonds. Interment will follow in the Epworth First Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home on Sunday, July 1, 2018 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
