Mae Tidman spoke to our ALPHA students at West Fannin Elementary on Tuesday, March 5th. Mae is a makeup artist for the filming industry in Atlanta. This will tie in nicely with ALPHA’s field trip to The Atlanta Movie Tour on March 21st. The students thoroughly enjoyed hearing her share her story. She has worked on the set of Goosebumps, Creed 2, Stranger Things, The Walking Dead, and many more. Mae is a product of the Fannin County School System. She attended West Fannin Elementary and Fannin County Middle, graduated from Fannin County High School, and attended Georgia Tech. She also worked at Turner Broadcasting with the Cartoon Network.

Mrs. Carol Mae Vezmar, age 86 of Blue Ridge, passed away Monday, December 17, 2018 at her home. Born June 10, 1932 in Cleveland, OH, Carol was a talented painter and writer. She enjoyed ice skating and always wanted to be a ballet dancer.
To the breath of my life, my queen, wait for me my love, I will come back to you and the kids too, we are waiting to be reunited, John.
Survivors include loving husband of 64 years, Peter John Vezmar, and three sons, Brian, Bruce and Nick Vezmar.

Margie Mae Davis, age 86, of McCaysville, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Pruitt Healthcare in Blue Ridge. Ms. Davis was born July 25, 1932, in McCaysville, GA to the late George Washington Davis and the late Mae Grantham Davis. She was a member of Williamstown United Methodist Church, enjoyed cooking, baking cakes, and spending time with family and friends
Survivors include a sister, Jeanette Dockery, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services: Sunday 2:00 PM, from the Finch Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Godfrey officiating. Interment will follow in Barns Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Finch Cochran Funeral Home Saturday evening from 5 PM till 8 PM.

Mrs. Lola Mae Pelfrey, age 78, of Epworth, passed away on Monday, October 8, 2018 at her home. She was born on May 10, 1940 in Epworth, to the late Floyd and Myrtle Mae Davis Millsaps. She retired from Levi Strauss, Inc. where she worked as a Sewing Machine Operator. She attended Hipps Chapel Church.
She is survived by her husband, Don Pelfrey; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Velda Pelfrey of McCaysville; daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Steve Hayes of Gainesville, VA; brothers, Tommy Millsaps of Blue Ridge and Bobby Millsaps of Mineral Bluff; sisters, Mary Lou Millsaps of Blue Ridge, Jo Ann Andrews of Duluth, Linda Buchanan of Canton, Jan Millsaps of Green Cove Springs, FL; and Debbie Queen of Ellijay; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Delmar Davenport officiating. Music was provided by Carol Thomas. Interment followed in the Crestlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers were Luke Pelfrey, Terry Dillard, Terry Pelfrey, Chase Queen, Steve Hayes, Mike Pelfrey, and Edd Stepp. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
