Fannin County Young Farmers Association’s 1st Annual Holiday Classic

The Fannin County Young Farmers Association held its first annual statewide Holiday Classic Breeding Ewe and Breeding Doe Show on December 1, 2018 starting at 10:00am at the new Fannin County School System Agriculture Facility. There were over 43 breeding doe entries and 45 breeding ewe entries. The exhibitors were 4-H and FFA members from across the state. Over $2000.00 was given out in prize money as well as $400.00 worth of awards sponsored by Ag Georgia. Kip Williams, Agriculture Teacher and Young Farmer Advisor from Murray County, served as the judge for the day.

Blue Ridge, Ga– __The Fannin County_FFA Alumni Chapter held their annual youth fair on September 30, 2017  at Fannin County High School.

Fannin County students, ages 6-18 participated in livestock competitions for both FFA and 4 H.   A total of 28 students participated in showing the following animals: sheep, goats, horses, rabbits, guinea pigs, and poultry.   The following students took home grand champion in the following areas: Alexis Ware – sheep and horses, Summer Rogers- goats, Zoe Miller- rabbits and guinea pigs, and Poultry.  Reserve grand was Shayelyn Millsaps for sheep, Aaron Walden – goats, Shelby Patterson for horses, Ashley Frye for rabbits, for guinea pigs, and Alexis Ware for poultry.
