Mary Wright Barnes, age 82, of Morganton, GA, passed away on April 22, 2016 at Northside Hospital Cherokee in Canton, GA. Born in Lagrange, GA, she was the daughter of the late James L. and Nannie Emerson Wright. She was a member of the Blue Ridge United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Barnes.

She is survived by her son, Harold “Hal” Barnes, Jr. of New York; daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Taylor Walker of Canton, GA, Carol and Charles Nelson of Cartersville, GA, and Cathy and Henry Norman of Watkinsville, GA; and grandchildren, Charlie Nelson, Nena Claire Nelson, Brian Walker, Catherine Walker, Amelia Norman, and Mary Emma Norman.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Doug Burrell will officiate. Music will be provided by Elizabeth Hunt.
