FIRE REPORT:
Blue Ridge Dr. Tuesday 2-16-16 Dispatched 20:50 Arrived 20:57 Cleared 01:41
Fannin County Fire Dept was dispatched to the area of Hwy 5 and Old Hwy 5 for the report of a house fire. First arriving units found A single-family dwelling unoccupied heavily involved with flames. Engine 4 deployed 4 attack lines. Team of two firefighters preformed a search of the house that was still standing. Engine 1 Engine 5 and Tanker 4 supplied Engine 4 with water from a nearby hydrant. North bound lane was shut down. Fannin County Sheriff Dept provided traffic control while fire suppression was taken place and completed.
Local and State Investigators are investigating the cause of fire.
Engine 4 Engine 1 Engine 5 Tanker 4 Air & Light Medic 4 Medic 5 and 22 firefighters responded to the fire.
Old Hwy 76 Thursday 2-18-16 Dispatched 10:59 Arrived 11:04 Cleared 17:25
Fannin County Fire Department was dispatched to 10944 Old Hwy 76 for the report of smoke coming from a house. The house was fully involved on the main level of the structure with collapse of the roof already taking place. Engine 11 and Medic 6 deployed 4 attack lines from Engine 11 for a defense attack. Engine 8, Engine 2 and Tanker 2 arrived and supplied Engine 11 with water until nearby hydrant was connected for positive water supply. Family members arrived on scene and advised us of a dog being down stairs, using attack line to push fire back from porch above. Fire Fighter used forced to open the down stairs door and dog escaped the house. Also used force to open garage door to remove vehicle and other items from the house. Fannin County CERT provided rehab for the firefighters.
Engine 11 Medic 6 Engine 8 Engine 2 Tanker 2 Air & Light and 15 Fire Fighters responded to the fire. Local and state investigators are investigating the cause of the fire.
