Blue Ridge City Council Makes Personnel Change
News December 2, 2015
The Blue Ridge City Council held its workshop meeting on December 1st 2015 and covered several subjects before moving to Executive Session. The Mayor and City Council Members stayed in executive session for approximately an hour while the media and a few others waited at City Hall. The Mayor and Council emerged and called its meeting back to order as we waited for the decisions made to be divulged to those waiting.
The meeting resumed and was over in less than five minutes. Council member Rodney Kendall made a motion to move to make a change in personnel by moving Tim Towe from a probation period to full time and changed Towe’s status from salary to hourly. The hourly rate to be $10 per hour and later move to $10.50. The motion saw a 2nd and was carried and the meeting was adjourned. FYN is curious how it took an hour to make what appeared to be this single decision but of course we are not privy to executive session.
