Mrs. Maymie Dyer Taylor, age 82, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away April 26, 2015 at her home. Mrs. Taylor was born on October 15, 1932 in Pikeville, TN to the late William Lester “Heck” Dyer and Susie Miller Dyer. Mrs. Taylor owned her own florist, loved to garden, enjoyed horseback riding, and was a superb marksman. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and wife. She is preceded in death by her husband, William S. Taylor.

Mrs. Taylor is survived by her son, Greg Taylor of Blue Ridge, GA; son and daughter in law, William Dirk and Suzanne Taylor of Blue Ridge, GA and Houston, TX; grandchildren, William Dirk Taylor, Jr., Leslie Taylor Riddock, and Zachary Taylor; and sister, Bess Humble of Houston, TX.

Memorial Services for Mrs. Taylor will be held Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 2:00 PM from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Tim Taylor and Father Brendan Doyle officiating. Music will be by Pastor Denise Caldwell, Denise Tallent, and The BacTracs. Ralph Green and Mike Key will serve as honorary pallbearers. Interment in Chastain Memorial Park will be held at a later date. Friends may visit the family on Saturday from 12:00-2:00 PM. Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge is in charge of arrangements.
