Mr. Jefferson “Jeff” Gordon Chastain, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA on Wednesday, August 20, 2014. He was born November 22, 1928 to the late William Jefferson and Lona Mae Campbell Chastain. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ellijay. He was a retired Lab Technician with Goodyear Aerospace.

He is survived by his wife, Deane Chastain; stepson, Eddy (Pat) Garrison of Dalton, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Darlene Chastain of Flat Rock, AL, Bob and Bettye Chastain of Blue Ridge, GA, Ron and Marvenia Chastain of Powder Springs, GA; and sister, Willene Collis of Mabelton, GA.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Drake officiating. Music will be provided by Rev. Scott Eaton. Interment will follow at the Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening, August 22, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Ellijay Building Fund at 164 Dalton Street, Ellijay, GA 30540.
