Wade Allen Woody, age 74 of Doublehead Gap Community, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014 at his home.He was born December 28, 1939 in Fannin, GA to the late John Evan Woody and Nola Butts Woody. He was a US Air Force Veteran. He loved his home and enjoyed sitting on his front porch and looking at the view of the river and mountains. Mr. Woody was a good hearted man, concerned about other people, and was always looking to help someone else. He enjoyed watching Nascar, wrestling, football, and baseball.
He was preceded in death by father, John Evan Woody, son, Travis Woody.

Survivors include: mother, Nola Woody, daughter, Kim Brown, sister Carolyn (James) Brown, grandchildren, Joseph Brown, Timothy Singleton, Chance Raney, and Austin Woody, niece, Lisa Brown, host of friends also survive.

Funeral services: Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Garrett and John Carruthers officiating. Interment will follow in the Brawley Family Cemetery. Pallbearers include John Carruthers, Matthew Kirby, Jeff Dockery, James “Jimmy” Brown, Jim Hill, and Keith Tipton. Honorary Pallbearers are Jerry Parris, Randall Woody, Howard Woody, C.W. Woody, Clyde Woody, Carl Beavers, Randall Beavers, Keith Tipton, Phillip Baily, Bruce Tucker, John Lovell, Anne Lovell, Harriett Barnes, Lisa Ballance, and Susie Payne.

The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Monday, March 24, 2014 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
