Fannin EMA and Fire Department along with US Forest Service responded to the report of a 74 year old man who had failed to return off of Aska Trail on time late Saturday evening. Family members stated that he had been hiking with his wife near Falls Branch off of Stanley Creek when they got separated. He walked out just as our units were arriving in the area. He was cold and wet but otherwise uninjured.

Dispatched to Loving Rd. for the report of a house fire. Arrived on scene to find that occupants were out of the house, flames were showing from upper level of the two story home. Engine 11 used two 1-3/4″ attack line to bring fire under control. Fire Extinguished. Fire occurred in a bedroom possible from
smoking materials.
State Fire Marshall Investigating cause of fire.
