The Akins Funeral of Copperhill announces the death of Mr. Edgar Trentham, Sr., age 97, of the Lifecare Center of Ducktown who passed away Friday, June 17, 2011.Mr. Trentham was born February 21, 1914 in Polk County to the late John E. and Lydia Ann Cross Trentham. He had worked for the L&N Railroad and was of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by wives, Della Guinn Trentham, Elaine Ledford Trentham, Louise Ledford Trentham; two children, Mildred Nelms, Marcus Dean Trentham, step-son, Gary Ledford.

He is survived by children: J.M. Trentham, of Benton, TN, Dewey Trentham of Benton, TN, Rev. Eddie Trentham of Farner, TN, Ken Trentham of Murphy, NC, Dennis Trentham of Ducktown, TN, Greg Trentham of Blue Ridge, GA, Sue Pankey of Benton, TN, Ruby Bradford of Benton, TN, Pat Maytas of Loraine, Ohio, Diane Womack of Benton, TN, Carol McPherson of Turtletown, TN, Donna Smith of Rossville,GA, Joann Cofer of Cleveland, TN; step-daughter, Glenda White of Eton,GA; He was also survived by more grandkids, great grand kids and great great grand kids than you could shake a stick at..

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, June 20th at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Cecil Coleman officiating. Music will be by Meritta Trentham, Renee Payne and Kenessia Trentham. Pallbearers include Jimmy Trentham, Chad Wooten, Dennis Trentham, Jr, Charlie Bradford, Jerry Pankey and George Nelms. Honorary pallbearers include Scottie, Jeff, Chris, Kendall, Travis, Justin and Phillip Trentham, Johnny Nelms, Larry Pankey, Joe Pankey, Dwayne Earley, Paul Wooten , Matthew Wooten, Damon Burke, Scottie White, Scotty Hughes and Mitchell Hughes. Interment will follow in the Liberty Cemetery.
