Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces the death of Mr. Merle Darwin White, age 74, of Greer, South Carolina, who passed away Monday, June 13, 2011 in South Carolina.

Mr. White was born in Ohio, on September 8, 1936, a son of the late Darwin White and Esther Waggoner White. He had lived in Blairsville for approximately 10 years before moving to Greer. Mr. White attended House of Prayer Church in Blairsville. He had been preceded in death by his first wife, Judy.

He is survived by and is lovingly remembered by his wife, Jolyn White; children, Ted White, of Greer; Tim and Lorri Ann White of Bryson City, North Carolina; and Teresa White Hollingsworth, of Clayton, Georgia; sister, Ethel Brown, of Florida; brothers, Harold White of Conyers, Georgia and Nelson White of Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
