Fannin County Holds Off Union 28–22 in Rivalry Matchup

Fannin County and Union County went toe-to-toe Saturday afternoon in Blue Ridge, with the Rebels pulling out a 28–22 win in front of a packed Rebel Stadium.

Fannin struck first and kept steady pressure all night, scoring a touchdown in every quarter. Union hung around, putting together a late rally with 12 points in the fourth, but the Rebels’ balance on offense proved too much.

Quarterback Nate Oneal led the way for Fannin, piling up yards through the air and on the ground. Running back Bentley Rich carried the load for Union, grinding out tough yards to keep the Panthers in striking distance.

The win moves Fannin to 1–2 on the season, while Union falls to 0–2. The Rebels get a bye week before returning to action against Coosa on September 12. Union heads to Murray County this Friday to open up region play.
