Manda Gwatney announces bid for Fannin County Probate Judge

PRESS RELEASE – Manda Gwatney is seeking to be elected as Probate Judge of Fannin County because she believes the people of Fannin County deserve a Probate Judge who is committed to serving the people.

If elected, she will close her private law practice before taking the bench.  She believes that it is important for public officials to be devoted to the job they are being paid by the taxpayers to do.

She will fulfill the duties of the Probate Judge in a fair, efficient, and impartial manner, and she pledges to fully account to the county and the taxpayers for the budget of the office.

Manda Gwatney is a native of Fannin County who grew up in McCaysville and has lived in Fannin County all her life, with the exception of times she was away for school.

She graduated from Fannin County High School in 1992 and earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of North Georgia (then North Georgia College) in 1995.

She taught at Union County High School for over seven years.

During that time, she earned a Master of Education in Instructional Technology and a Specialist’s degree in Education from the University of Georgia.

After the birth of her daughter, Lora, in 2002, she left teaching and then entered law school in 2004.

When she graduated in 2007, she opened her own law practice in Blue Ridge.

She has spent the past 16 years practicing law in ways that reflect her desire to help people.

She has concentrated her practice on elder law, probate matters, wills, mediation, contracts, legal research services, arbitration, and child welfare.

Ms. Gwatney would appreciate everyone’s vote and support in the general primary election May 21, 2024.  If anyone has questions, please feel free to give her a call at 706-455-5818.
