BLUE RIDGE, Ga – More winter weather is expected over the next 24 hours, beginning this evening with possible freezing rain.
A winter weather advisory goes into effect at 7 p.m. and lasts until 7 a.m. on Thursday, February 18. Fannin, Union, Towns, Lumpkin and White Counties can expect up to a tenth of an inch of freezing rain.
The potentially slippery roads, bridges, and sidewalks could impact morning commutes so use caution. National Weather Service asks for those on the road to slow down and for everyone to prepare for possible power outages.
During the day on Thursday, the storm system will likely turn to heavy rain with isolated thunderstorms, but there’s a chance for a winter mix late Thursday into Friday morning with minor accumulation possible.
