Mr. King’s Sports Medicine class studies Physical Therapy

Mr. King’s Sports Medicine class would like to thank Tommy Jackson (Physical Therapist), Lauren Lancaster (Occupational Therapist), and Julie Arp (Office Manager) from BenchMark Physical Therapy for coming out and working with our students. The Sports Medicine students were able to help diagnose mock injuries for the upper extremity which includes the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand.

Students were then shown multiple modalities and treatment techniques to help heal each injury such as Acupuncture, Cupping, IASTM (Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization), and Myofascial taping. Lauren Lancaster also showed how she uses customized orthosis to help her patients as a certified hand specialist.

Thank you to BenchMark PT for helping our students see the applications of what they learn in our healthcare program.
