Mrs. Laura Pearl Bell Green, age 80, of Mineral Bluff, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2020. She was born in Mineral Bluff on July 12, 1939 to the late Amon W. Bell and Ada Ross Bell. She was a member of Hot House Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, J.R. Green; son, Ricky Green; grandson, Joshua Shane Green; and siblings, Bertie Queen, Wayne Bell, Buddy Bell, and H.B. Bell.
She is survived by her children, Shirley Green, of Mineral Bluff, Kenny (Michelle) Green of Mineral Bluff, Missy Beaver of Mineral Bluff, and Kathi (Scott) Johnson of Blue Ridge; grandchildren, Michael Green, Jeremiah Green, Joshua Foster, Brittany Young, Justin Green, Joseph Foster, Brandon Green, Christopher Green, Mathew Johnson, and Savannah Brown; great-grandchildren, Katylyn Green, Olivia Green, Jacob Green, Dakota Green, Madilyn Green, Jordyn-Rae Green, Lakota Foster, Braxton Young, and Colton Gilliam; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, January 31, 2020 at 2:00 PM from the Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Danny Queen and Rev. Kenny Housley officiating. Mathew Johnson, Delores Gibbs, and Sara Kate Odom will provide music. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Copperhill. Albert Green, Joshua Foster, Joseph Foster, Michael Green, Dakota Green, Jeremiah Green, William Queen, and Brandon Green will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Young, Eric Foster, Christopher Green, Chris Foster, Mathew Johnson, Jacob Green, Justin Anthony Green, and Justin Green. The family will visit with friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
