Geneva Mae Kyle Huddleston Stage, 93, of Kokomo, formerly of Cherry Log, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2020. She was born August 22, 1926, in Cherry Log, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Otis Emery Kyle and Mae Lydora (Chancey) Kyle.
Geneva grew up in McCaysville, Georgia, and married John Huddleston of Fonde, Kentucky, on September 18, 1946. Together they had one child, Brenda Huddleston Stage. John passed away on December 27, 1992. He and Geneva were married for 46 years.
She married Kenneth Stage of Elwood, Indiana, on April 3, 1999. He and Geneva were married for 21 years. He survives.
Geneva is also survived by her daughter, Brenda Sue (Carl) Stage; her grandchildren, Kyle David (Patty) Stage, and Jenna Leigh (Aaron) Mercer; her great-grandchildren, Kelly Stage, Molly Stage, Elizabeth Mercer, and Drew Mercer of Kokomo; brother, Doug (Carolyn) Kyle, Chatsworth, Georgia; 4 nieces; step-sons, Steve, Don, and Fred, along with their spouses; 4 step-grandchildren and 5 step-great-grandchildren.
Geneva was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Charles and Gene Kyle.
Geneva will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She had the wonderful gift of making everyone feel welcome, cared about, and important. She loved to laugh, and had the wonderful ability of finding joy regardless of the circumstances.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4-7 pm Friday, January 17, 2020, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo 46902.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 20, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Chapel. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 12:00-2:00 pm Monday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Copper Ridge Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at akinsfuneralhome.com. Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge is in charge of arrangements.
