Johnny Gray: Obituary

Mr. Johnny Gray, age 77, of Blue Ridge, GA, passed away on December 25, 2019. Born in Blue Ridge, GA, he was the son of the late Edgar Graham Gray and Stella Gray. Johnny had retired from June Walker Chevrolet in 2008. He was a loving husband of 52 years, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially cheering for his grandchildren at their various sporting events. He also an avid outdoorsman enjoying fishing and especially hunting. Johnny was a member of the McCaysville Church of God. He was preceded in death by a son, Jay Hill; brother, Robert Leonard Gray; and one sister-in-law, Patricia Scott.

Survivors include his wife, Claudette Parris Gray of the home; children and their spouses, Jammia and Wesley Duvall of Mineral Bluff, GA, Jeffery and Sandy Hill of East China, MI, David and Rachal Gray of Blue Ridge, GA, Pete and Elisa Gray of Blue Ridge, GA; grandchildren, J.R. Hill, Melissa Hill, Samantha Hill, Lloyd Hill, Cody Hill, Brian Duvall, Tiffany Duvall, Jenna Lyle, Olivia Hill, Daniel Gray, Cody Gray, Hunter Gray, Matthew Gray, Jordan Gray, Caroline Gray and Colton Gray; sisters-in-laws and their spouses, Denise and Ron Cearley of Blue Ridge, GA, Rebecca and Steve Labb and Pam and Jim Lakatos all of MI; and many other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Lamb officiating. Music was provided by Gina Carmichael, Rhonda Lamb and Dewayne Housley. Interment followed in the Chastain Memorial Park Cemetery with the following grandsons serving as pallbearers: Matthew Gray, Jordan Gray, Daniel Gray, Cody Gray, Hunter Gray and Colton Gray. Serving as honorary pallbearers were: Ron Cearley, Wesley Duvall, Arvil Mealer, Pearl Stillwell, Tiffany Duvall and Avery Duvall.
