Carson Beavers, Blake Rogers, Hunter Gray, Matthew Shirah, and Gabe Buchanan commit to play college baseball on 12/13/19
Congratulations to Gabe Buchanan for signing a letter of intent to play college baseball at Reinhardt University next year. Buchanan is a senior at Fannin County High School who has been playing the sport for most of his life.
It was a unique and exciting day as not only Gabe was signing, but also four of his other teammates. Family and friends from all over came to celebrate the Rebel’s big day. Head coach of the Fannin Rebel Baseball team started off the signing ceremony thanking the parents and teachers of the players for shaping them into the fine young men that they have become. He followed his statement with, “This is not something that happens overnight. Great baseball players are shaped over the years from rec ball games, travel ball tournaments, and school games that you parents gave up your time to be at. These five young men had a goal and they have worked so hard to achieve this next chapter of their life. These men are going to do great things. They are going to come back and be a great part of a community wherever they decide to land and that speaks to their character. They have been all in since day one and I’m so grateful to have shared part of this journey with them.”

His sophomore year, the scholar was inducted into the the National Honors Society. The following year, Gabe was inducted into the National Technical Honors Society to add to his academic accomplishments. His awards continued onto junior year wear he earned the Sports Medicine Award as well as the Georgia Merritt Scholarship. As far as extracurriculars go, baseball is not the only sport the athlete has participated in throughout his high school career. His freshman and sophomore year, Gabe also participated in basketball for the school. He is also currently a part of the Junior Board which he was selected to be on out of many of his classmates.
“Playing baseball at the high school has taught me the importance of faith, family, and fight within a team. While this team has given me so much, I’m looking forward to this next chapter in my life as well as continuing my dream of playing college baseball,” Buchanan shared with the Team FYN Sports team. Good luck to the future Eagle in all of his future endeavors!
