Dolores Simonds Sisson: Obituary

Mrs. Dolores Simonds Sisson, age 86, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2019. Born on April 4, 1933, in Ducktown, TN, she was the daughter of the late Henry Waldo Simonds and Anna Mae Satterfield Simonds. She worked for 20 years at Copper Basin High School and in her spare time she enjoyed writing short stories, poems and songs. Dolores loved the Lord and was a member of the Mineral Bluff Baptist Church, a woman strong in faith and considered a prayer warrior by friends and family. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Homer Ted Sisson; granddaughter Heidi Lynn Gladson and brother Troy Simonds.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Patricia and Jim Cole of Dalton and Pamela Sisson of Cleveland; brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Irina Simonds of Copperhill; sister, June Hauck of Ohio; grandchildren, Tim Cole and wife Teresa , Tiffany Daniel and husband Jason, Scott Hampton and wife Kim; 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great- grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, November 22, 2019 at 12:00 PM from the Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Brian Clayton officiating. Interment will follow in the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Turtletown with Tim Cole, Dylan Cole, Jason Daniel, Harrison Daniel, Scott Hampton, Kage Gladson and Knox Hampton serving as pallbearers.
