Spring Arts in the Park festival announced

Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association and Art Center is preparing for its 2019 Spring Arts in the Park festival.

PRESS RELEASE

BLUE RIDGE, Ga. – The Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association and Art Center is inviting everyone to attend its annual Spring Arts in the Park Festival. A few highlights of the event are:

·The festival will be held Memorial Day weekend specifically on Friday, May 25th and Saturday, May 26th, 2019.

·Festival hours on both Saturday and Sunday will be from 10a.m. – 5pm rain or shine.

·The weekend admission is $5.00 per person, must keep the issued wristband in order to enter both days, children under the age of 12 are free.

·Dogs are allowed, must be kept on a leash and well behaved at all times.

·We will have approximately 200 vendors comprised of artist and food vendors. All areas of artistry will be represented such as paint, photography, pottery, fiber, leather, jewelry, handmade body products, garden art, sculptures and so much more.

·We will have an artist demonstrating tie dye.

·We have invited artist to participate in “Paint our Festival.” This is an opportunity for artists to showcase their work during the festival, paint their own rendition of the art festival and if their work is selected it could be used as the cornerstone for marketing our 2020 Arts in the Park festival. If selected we would consider using the artists’ rendition of the festival in future advertising such as in our newsletter, possibly our festival poster, featured in some of the local tourist magazines, rack cards, etc.

·On Saturday, May 25th at 8:50 a.m. to meet at the Art Center (420 West Main Street) and march along with the Boy Scouts and the North Georgia Honor Guard to the corner of West Main & Depot St. and proceed to Flag Pole. North Georgia Honor Guard will assist Boy Scout Troop 460 (Tom Orchanian- Troop Leader) in raising of US Flag, lead everyone in Pledge of Allegiance, and TAPS. This downtown ceremony will be in commemoration of Memorial Day. All Veterans and the general public are invited to attend.
