Jerry Garland Housley, age 82, of Epworth, passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2019 in Smyrna, GA. He was born on April 28, 1936 to the late Lester and Naomi Galloway Housley. He was a member of Hipps Chapel Church. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post #296 in Marietta.
He is survived by daughters, Christine Metcalfe of Dallas and Crystal Miller of Hiram; brothers, Jack Housley of Epworth and Max Housley of McCaysville; sister, Bobbie Jean Phillips of McCaysville; Sixteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and other loved ones.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. from Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Delmar Davenport officiating. Interment followed in the Goss Cemetery in Epworth, GA. Full Military Honors was provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Ian Metcalfe, Stephen Miller, Jeremy Metcalfe, Zachary Miller, Tommy Thompson, Tyler Spencer, Jeremiah Smith, Bryan Smith, and Casey Dillard served as pallbearers.
