Jo Lynn Foster Johnson, age 68, of McCaysville, passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Northside Cherokee Hospital in Canton. She was born in Higdon, on October 31, 1950 to the late John Doyle “J.D.” and Reathel Brown Foster. She was a member of Hipps Chapel Church for over 58 years. She is also preceded inn death by her husband, Jerry Johnson and niece, Jessica Boles.
She is survived by her son, Christopher Matthew Jones of Centerville, OH; granddaughters, Lauren and Hannah Jones; sisters, Sandra Rooks of McCaysville, Jonene Sartin of Madison, MS, and Cheryl Boles of Acworth; and brother, John Michael Foster of Newnan.
Memorial services will be conducted on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at 2:00 pm, from Hipps Chapel Church with Rev. Delmar Davenport officiating. Music will be provided by Glenda Davenport, J.W. Patterson, and the Hipps Chapel Church Choir. Eulogies will be given by Johnny Phillips, Jr., Jeannie Watson, Barbara Lee, and Jonene Sartin. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends prior to the service at the church from 1:00 pm until the funeral hour of 2:00 pm. Condolences may be sent to the family online at akinsfuneralhome.com.
