Hugh Hansell Wallace

January 2, 1939 – February 5, 2019

Hugh Hansell Wallace, age 80, of Morganton, GA, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2019 peacefully at his home. Mr. Walllace was born in Ducktown, TN to the late William Shields and Edith Taylor Wallace. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War Era and later worked and retired from the General Motors Corporation, where he worked as an Assembly Line Worker. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Henrietta Wallace and infant son, Robert Wayne Wallace.

He is survived by siblings, Bob (Cathy) Wallace of Seneca, SC, Jim (Susie) Wallace of Alexa, NC, Shirley (Bennie) Loudermilk of Turtletown, TN; brother-in-law, Paul Ray (Diane) White of Turtletown, TN; sisters-in-law, Jenny (David) Smith of Acworth, GA, Diane (Ron) Prince of Hiram, GA; several nieces and nephews, along with many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 1:00 pm. from the Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbreares: Jimmy Wallace, Gary Wallace, Terry Smith, Lance Smith, Tim Prince and Ray White. The family will visit with friends at the funeral home on Saturday prior to the service from 12:00 pm until the funeral hour of 1:00 pm. .
