Judy Kay Hicks, age 65, of Epworth, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2019 at her home. Born on September 3, 1953 in Blue Ridge, GA, she was the daughter of the late J.C. and Ruby Queen Dyer. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and long time member of Hipps Chapel Church.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur Hicks of Epworth, GA; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Candi Hicks of Mineral Bluff, GA, Brandy and Drew Hefner of Canton, GA and Amber and Michael Maudlin of Ranger, GA; grandchildren, Cheyanne Hawkins, Jenny Hawkins, Emily Hawkins, Avery Hefner, Case Hefner, Chynna Hicks and Tristan Mauldin; four brothers and one sister-in-law, Larry Dyer, Ted and Brenda Dyer, Matt Dyer, Jeff Dyer; and one sister, Nancy Patterson.
Memorial services will be conducted on Thursday, January 31, 2019, at 6:00 pm from Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Delmar Davenport officiating. Music will be provided by the Hipps Chapel Church Choir. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. prior to the Memorial service. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital online at www.choa.org. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.akinsfuneralhome.com. Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge is in charge of the arrangements.
