Frederick Keith Ballew: Obituary

Frederick Keith Ballew, age 80, of Copperhill, TN, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2018. Mr. Ballew was a native of the Copper Basin area and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Copperhill. He owned and operated the Tri State Respiratory and was very active in the community serving two terms as County Judge for Polk County in the 1970’s, Hospital Administrator for Copper Basin Hospital for fifteen years, Chairman of the Democratic Party of Polk Count, a member of the Lions Club in Copperhill and was very active with the Grief Share at First United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn Wright Ballew and parents, Amos and Ellen Center Ballew.

He is survived by daughters, Yvonne (Billy) Coleman of Statesville, NC; Michelle Ballew Gregory of Walhalla, SC; sisters, Linda Pauley of Virginia Beach, VA, Jane Leader of Index, WA; grandchildren, Joshua Keith (Shelby) Loudermilk, Brittany Hope (Brad) Raper, Heaven Nikole Thompson; great grandchildren, Conrad Keith Loudermilk, Cortland Junior Loudermilk, Kensleigh Raper and Kyleigh Raper; special friend, Linda Haney.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, May 25, 2018 at 1:00 PM from the First United Methodist Church of Copperhill with Rev. Jennings Neeld and Rev. Tom Reed officiating. Music will be by Randy Loudermilk. Pallbearers include Tony Edwards, Freddie Seagraves, Brett McDonald, Myron Ryder, Bill Cochran and Dale Ray. Interment will follow in the Crestlawn cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Memorial Contributions in Mr. Ballew’s memory may be made to the Avalon Hospice 1850 Executive Park Dr. NW, Cleveland, TN 37312 or online at www.avalon-hospice.com.
