Charles Hickey, age 76, of Turtletown, TN, passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2018. Charles was born in Murphy, NC and was a member of the New Zion Baptist Church. He was a member of the Ironworkers of American Local # 704 and was employed with the TVA at Watts Bar. He was a member of the Copperhill Masonic Lodge # 656 F&AM.
He is survived by his wife, Ellie Towl Hickey of the home; children, Tia (Shaun) Worthington, Tefanie Hickey and Chuck (Tweetsie) Hickey; Sisters, Martha (Roger) Brown, Opal (Harold) Adams; Brothers, Kenneth (Linda) Allen, J.R. (Dorothy) Allen and Howard Allen. Granddaughter, Sydney Lee Hickey; step-grandchildren, Briona and Ryan Worthington. Many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Ray Harper and Rev. Jerry Beavers officiating. Music will be by Mitchell Prince. Pallbearers include Tim McArthur, John Hicks, Scott Allen, Steven Allen, David Newman and Charles Kimsey. Honorary pallbearers include Billy Dean Ledford, T.J.Hicks, Wade Adams, Dennis Hamby, Joe Hart and Rick Farner. Interment will follow in the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Masonic rites conducted by the Copperhill Lodge # 656 F&AM. The family will visit with friends at the funeral home on Thursday after 1:00 P.M. but especially from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
