Ruby Alice Baliles, age 89, of Turtletown, TN, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018. Ruby was born in Cherokee County, NC to the late Anderson and Bessie Hayes Walker. She was of the Church of God Faith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Coyt Baliles, son, Jerry Baliles, infant daughter, Nicole Baliles, granddaughter, Beverly Williams, grandsons, Kenny Godsey and Jimmy Newton, Jr, brothers, Billy, Willie and Boyd Walker and sisters, Zola Benfield, Wilma Walker, Hazel Allen and Geneva Casson.
She is survived by children, Charles (Paula) Baliles of Crandall, GA, Eloise Newton of McCaysville, GA, Patricia Baliles of Dalton, GA; nine grandchildren, Chris Newton, Dustin Beard, Heather Hartman, Jessica Duckworth, Anthony Queen, Betty Abercrombie and Stephanie Baliles. Nineteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Charles Moore officiating. Pallbearers will be William Duckworth, Haven Baine, Danny O’Neal, Buddy Gene Walker, Jimmy Newton and Chris Newton. Honorary Pallbearers include, Hunter Hartman, David Hartman and Kyle Hughes. Interment will follow in the Mt. Carmel cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family online at akinsfuneralhome.com.
