Mattie Louise Botts: Obituary

Mattie Louise Botts, age 74, of East Point, GA passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018 at her home. Mrs. Botts was born in Blue Ridge, GA on May 10, 1943 to the late Kit Carson Payne and Ollie D. Patterson Payne. She was of the Christian faith and was preceded in death by her husband Marvin Botts.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher Lee Botts and Nichole Botts of Salt Lake City, UT and Jonnie Gregory Botts and Linda Botts of Lawrenceville, GA; two daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene Louise Reeves and Douglas Reeves of Winston, GA and Janice Lynette Tuggle and David Tuggle of McDonough, GA; a brother, Rev. John Henry Payne of Epworth, GA; sisters, Elvie Ricketson, Kathy Maxwell, Mary Ann Robinson, and Martha Jones; she was a grandmother to 8 grandchildren and a great grandmother to 5 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. John Henry Payne officiating. Music was provided by Kathy Maxwell. Pallbearers were Tanner Botts, Tyler Botts, Jeffery Hudson, Adam Tuggle, Brittany Tuggle, and Amanda Botts. Interment followed in Patterson Cemetery. Donations in memory of Mrs. Botts may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Billy Graham Evangelical Association. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com. Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge was in charge of arrangements.
