Rachel Mae Bell, age 79, of Mineral Bluff, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at her home. Mrs. Bell was born in Fannin County, GA on March 20, 1939 to the late Willie and Minnie Walden Patterson. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. Mrs. Bell was preceded in death by her granddaughter Christina Pless.
She is survived by her husband, Norman Bell of the home; a son, Elmer Pless of McCaysville, GA; a daughter, Connie (John) Burt of Myrtle Beach, SC; brothers, Jerry Patterson, David Patterson, Jimmy Patterson, Donnie Patterson, and Melvin Patterson all of Chatsworth, GA; sisters, Evon Stout of Knoxville, TN, Elizabeth Malone of Ellijay, GA, Shirley Crowder of Chatsworth, GA, and Mildred Patterson of Chatsworth, GA; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of Akins Funeral Home with Rev. Jesse Sisson and Rev. Don Padgett officiating. Music was provided by Rev. Johnathan Adams. Interment followed in the Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Adam Hughes, Jason Morrow, Ronnie Bell, James Hyatt, Steve Byers, Phillip Barker, and Marion McFarland.
