Glynn Jackson “Jack” Adams: Obituary

Glynn Jackson “Jack” Adams, age 78 of Blue Ridge, passed away Friday, March 30, 2018 at Kennestone Hospital. Mr. Adams was born in Toccoa, GA on October 7, 1939 to the late Clyde Henry and Maranda Rachael Jenkins Adams. He worked as a tire represenative for the Edwards Warren Tire Company, served in the U.S. Army, and attended New Antioch Baptist Church. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Leonard Adams.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Joyce Adams of the home; children, Jack (Sheri) Adams, Jr. of Blue Ridge and Angie (Greg) Ledford of Talking Rock, GA; and grandchildren, Zachery Adams, Hannah Payne, Rachael Adams, and Hayley Wingo.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, April 2, 2018 at 4:00 pm at New Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Pope, Rev. Phillip Green, and Rev. Terry Thrasher officiating. Music will be provided by the New Antioch Baptist Church Choir and Bill McVey. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Matthew Davenport, Lee Adams, Larry Fox, Darrell Stewart, Timmy Messer, Dale Blair, Jim Robinson, and Hunter Fox. Honorary pallbearers will be Rev. James Galloway, Jim Dickey, Wm. Earl Thrasher, and Jim Davenport. Friends may visit the family on Sunday evening from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the New Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. Condolences may be made online at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
