The Fannin County Young Farmers Association held a grape production tour and talk on Monday, November 27. The group toured Hot House Vineyards, The Vineyard at Gibbs Farms and Bear Claw Vineyard. 25 FCYFA and community members attended. Mr. Clark MacAllister County Extension Agent in both Lumpkin and Dawson Counties and a member of the University of Georgia Viticulture Team presented a program on grape production in the state and in our area. Ron and Diane Sullivan and Bubba Gibbs gave a tour of their vineyards to the participants. The group the traveled to Bear Claw Vineyard and toured their processing facility. Fannin County Extension Agent Eddie Ayers was also on hand to answer questions. A spaghetti dinner was made possible by sponsor United Community Bank and Bear Claw Vineyards hosted the presentation and dinner . The Fannin County Young Farmers Association also held their monthly business meeting at the end of the evening.
