Thelma Louise Parr Watkins, age 89 of Blue Ridge GA passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at the Heritage Health Care in Blue Ridge, GA. Mrs. Watkins was born on May 21, 1928 in Polk County, TN to the late Walter Franklin and Della Curtis Parr. She had worked at Levi Strauss and Company as a sewing machine operator. Mrs. Watkins was a member of Barnes Chapel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sylvester Watkins and brother, James “Clarence” Parr.
Survivors are daughters, Linda Marie Ballew of Blue Ridge, GA, Susan Ann Brown of Blue Ridge, GA, Betty Louise Chastain of Blairsville, GA, and Vernell Neuwar of Ellijay, GA; sons, James Walter Watkins of Blue Ridge, GA and Joseph Andrew Watkins of Blue Ridge, GA; sisters, Susie Henry of Blue Ridge, GA and Dorothy Morgan of Blue Ridge, GA; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 2:00 pm from the Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. James Worley officiating. Pallbearers will be William Mull, Austin Mull, Rob Neuwar, Dakota Bailey, Kevin Watkins and Charlie Ballew. Interment will follow in the Young’s Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.
