Speaker David Ralston to Host Fannin County
Senior Homestead Exemption Town Hall
ATLANTA – Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) will hold a town hall meeting to discuss a possible Senior Homestead Exemption for Fannin County on Thursday, November 16, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Jury Assembly Room of the Fannin County Courthouse.
Speaker Ralston will be joined by State Senator Steve Gooch (R-Dahlonega) who also represents Fannin County in the Georgia General Assembly.
The meeting comes in response to interest expressed by some Fannin County senior citizens in having more relief from property taxes.
Any changes made to the senior school tax homestead exemption would have to be approved by the 2018 session of the Georgia General Assembly and Fannin County voters in the 2018 general election.
