The family of William Richard Hicks would like to thank Claire Pritchett and family, and Cathy Reese for your love for Richard these many years.

Richard worked for Chancey Construction and attended Dover Chapel. He loved working on small projects and watching WWF Wrestling. Even though an injury as a child altered his mental capacity Richard’s heart never changed. He found great joy in helping other people and he had many dreams and goals in life, that he spoke of continually. He was loved dearly by his sisters but Richard was better understood and closest to his brother-in-law Ronnie Chancey whom he always referred to as his Big Brother, because he was always there for him no matter what. Though he faced many challenges Richard never admitted handicap nor made any excuses. He accomplished his main goal in life, which was just to live as a normal person, independent, without special treatment. His favorite saying was “I hold my head up high and think positive”.

We love you little brother. Until we see you again, we will try to follow your advice

Love,
Sherry, Tammy, & Ronnie
