Jerry Carlton Holcomb, age 68, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017 in Fannin Regional Hospital in Blue Ridge, GA. Mr. Holcomb was born in Atlanta, GA to the late Joseph Curtis Holcomb, Jr. and Mary Louise Shutley Holcomb. He worked as a Painter and was a member of Calvary Chapel. Mr. Holcomb was a United States Army veteran serving in the Vietnam War in the United States Army. He was a member of the Blue Ridge Patriots friends of the NRA, a member of the Fannin County Tea Party Patriots, and a member of the Fannin County Republican Party. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jerri Michelle Holcomb and a brother, Joseph Curtis Holcomb III.
He is survived by his wife, Debi Holcomb of Blue Ridge; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa Hope and Robert Morris of Dallas, GA; stepdaughters and spouse, Christina and Leon Chambers of Blue Ridge, Crystal McCowen of Florida, and Silvia Machado of Florida; a stepson, Cisco Machado of Blue Ridge; sisters and brother-in-law, Sandra L. Holcomb of Cumming, GA and Judy Holcomb Hemmis and Harry Hemmis of Dawsonville, GA; mother-in-law, Sandra Daugherty of Blue Ridge; brothers-in-law, David Johns of Blue Ridge, Luke McDonald of Blue Ridge, Tim McDonald stationed in Oak Harbor, WA; and grandchildren, Emma Chambers, Jonathon Chambers, and Emie Machado.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 25, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. from the Akins Chapel with Rev. Daniel Postell officiating. Military honors will be by the United States Army. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 12 noon until the funeral hour. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Mr. Holcomb may be made to Calvary Chapel Building Fund P.O.
