Mr. Tommy Homer Dills, age 78 of Mineral Bluff, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Pruitt Nursing Home in Blue Ridge. Tommy was born September 10, 1938 in Union County, GA to the late Garnie Dills and the late Roberta (Birdie) Davis Ballew. A member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church, he was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Wayne and Jessie Hill and two cousins, Joseph and Adam Lowery. Tommy enjoyed coon hunting in his spare time, also working on lawn mowers and gardening.
Survivors include wife, Christine Carden Dills, daughter, Rebecca Walker, daughter, Angelia (Dillon) Ponder, brother, Roy Ballew, two grandchildren, Dewayne and Jerermy Watkins and six great-grandchildren, Madison, Tate, Hope, Maeleigh, Grace and Raelynn Watkins.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Stanley Ritter officiating. Music provided by Lena Hill. Interment will follow in the Chastain Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers include Dewayne Watkins, Jerermy Watkins, Matthew Lowery, Eric Rider, Ronnie Ponder and Austin Rider. Honorary pallbearer will be Ryan Ponder.
The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Friday, August 11, 2017 from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
