Homer Gibbs, age 76, of Morganton, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017, at Pruitt Health Care. Mr. Gibbs was born October 24, 1940, in Mineral Bluff, GA to the late Bill Gibbs and the late Mollie King Gibbs. He was a member of Hot House Baptist Church and he enjoyed traveling, bingo and gardening.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Shirley K. Gibbs, sons, William Michael Gibbs and Steven Floyd Gibbs, brother, Ernest Gibbs, sister, Mary Ann Patterson, grandchildren, William Christopher Gibbs, Elizabeth Ann Gibbs, great-grandchildren, Zeke Gibbs, Jacoby Gibbs, nieces, and nephews also survive.
Funeral services: Sunday, July 9, 2017, at 2:00 pm from Henry-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Hooper and Rev. Danny Kaylor officiating. Music provided by A.C. Caylor Family. Interment will follow in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Mineral Bluff. Pallbearers: Ricky Payne, Bobby Payne, Josh Payne, Scott Mealer, Travis Davis, David Fisher and Tommy Cornett.
The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Saturday, July 8, 2017, 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
